Description:

Polyferric sulfate (PFS) is an inorganic polymer coagulant with superior performance. Its morphological properties are yellowish,amorphous, powdery solid, and it is easily soluble in water. 10% (mass) of aqueous solution is reddish-brown transparent solution with hygroscopicity.

It is widely used in purification treatment such as drinking water, industrial water, various of industrial waste water,urban
sewage,sludge dewatering,etc.

 

Used as:

Flocculation agent for water treatment in municipal water supplies. Phosphate removal in sewage treatment.

Characteristics

Chemical formula: PFS is a complex compound with the chemical formula [Fe2(OH)n(SO4)m]x, where n and m are integers and x is the charge of the complex.

Appearance: PFS is a yellowish-brown to reddish-brown powder or liquid, depending on its concentration and formulation.

Solubility: PFS is highly soluble in water, which makes it effective in removing pollutants and impurities from water.

Coagulation properties: PFS is a highly effective coagulant that works by destabilizing and aggregating suspended particles and other impurities in water, allowing them to be removed through sedimentation or filtration.

pH dependence: PFS is effective over a wide pH range, but its coagulation properties are strongest at a pH of around 5 to 7.

Stability: PFS is relatively stable under normal conditions, but it can be decomposed by strong acids or alkalis, which can reduce its effectiveness.

Environmental impact: PFS is considered to be relatively environmentally friendly compared to other coagulants, as it does not contain toxic heavy metals and does not produce harmful byproducts during its use. Application:

1. Drinking water purifying.
2. Sludge dewatering.
3. Industry waste water treatment (such as the paper making waste water, the printing waster water, the massacre waste water, the automobile manufacturing waste water, the beer factory waste water and so on.),
4. Many kinds of industry circulating water treatment (ex,the make-up water of the high pressure boiler in the heat and power plant, the industry waste water in biochemical treating factory, the waste emulsifying solution, the opalescent solution and the oil waste water.

Application method

  • Before using, dissolve the Solid Polyferric Sulfate in running water in the proportion of 10%-30% to get red brown solution, then dilute it to dosing solution required for coagulation, the concentration of dosing solution is 2-5% for waste water treatment.
  • Best Dosage: as per the different property of raw water, polyferric sulfate dosage can be determined by the experience.
