Bag Filter – Economic Polishing of Sewage & Process Water

Bag filter housings give wastewater operators a low-cost, space-saving route to 1–800 µm clarification. Made of 304/316L stainless or epoxy steel, the vessel holds one to eighteen needle-felt or mesh bags rated 1–1000 gpm. Incoming flow enters the top, passes outward through the bag fabric, and exits clear; solids are trapped inside, allowing easy change-out without tools. Polypropylene felt offers broad chemical tolerance for textile or food effluent, while nylon mesh suits high-temperature metal-waste streams. A single #2 bag gives 4.5 m² surface, capturing up to 5 kg sludge; multi-bag units handle 500 m³ h⁻¹ with ΔP < 0.5 bar. Optional SS baskets, magnet inserts and differential-pressure gauges protect downstream membranes, RO or UV from abrasion and fouling, cutting cleaning cycles 30 %. Bags are incinerable or recyclable, supporting zero-landfill goals. With 5-minute cartridge-free replacement, low capital cost and 99 % uptime, bag filters are ideal for pre-treatment, final polishing or recycle loops in municipal and industrial sewage works.
