What is decoloring agent

Wastewater decolorant is a treatment agent primarily used for industrial wastewater, targeting colored components in wastewater. It is a water treatment agent that reduces or removes the chroma of wastewater to achieve an ideal state. Based on the decolorization mechanism, decolorants can generally be classified into three categories: flocculating decolorants, oxidizing decolorants, and adsorbing decolorants. Oxidizing decolorants mainly utilize their strong oxidizing properties to break down chromophoric groups, thereby removing chroma, while adsorbing decolorants remove chroma through adsorption via their own porous structure. These two methods have many limitations and drawbacks, making them unsuitable for large-scale applications. Due to its wide applicability across various fields, flocculating decolorants have become the mainstream product for decolorization treatment.

This decolorant can also decompose surfactants and emulsified oils in wastewater through the principles of flocculation and sedimentation. It breaks them down into small particles via electrolysis, which then settle under gravity through flocculation and sedimentation, achieving solid-liquid separation. Its functions include removing suspended organic matter, reducing chemical oxygen demand (COD), eliminating chroma, and additionally reducing the organic load in subsequent biochemical treatment.

This wastewater decolorant is mainly used for the decolorization of high-chroma wastewater from dyeing factories and is applicable to wastewater containing reactive dyes, acid dyes, and disperse dyes. Furthermore, it can be used in the treatment of textile, bleaching, dyeing, printing, and dyeing wastewater, as well as industrial wastewater from the pigment, ink, and paper industries.
