Product Introduction

Polyaluminum Ferric Chloride (PAFC) is a high-efficiency composite coagulant combining Al³⁺ and Fe³⁺ active species. It excels in turbidity, color, COD, and phosphorus removal across municipal sewage, papermaking wastewater, and industrial effluents. PAFC works in wide pH 6–9, forms dense flocs 2–3× faster than PAC or ferric salts, and cuts sludge volume up to 30 %. Liquid 10–18 % or powder ≥28 % Al₂O₃+Fe₂O₃ grades are ready-to-use, non-corrosive, and compliant with EN 888/GB 15892. Packed in 25 kg bags or 1 t IBCs, PAFC delivers low cost per m³ treated water and stable effluent meeting WHO/EPA limits.

Application

Water purification

• Municipal drinking-water plants dose 5–20 mg L⁻¹ PAFC to cut turbidity from 10–200 NTU to <0.3 NTU in one step, achieving 2–3 log Cryptosporidium removal without raising residual Al beyond 0.05 mg L⁻¹.
• It removes color (>90 %) from humic surface waters at pH 6.5–7.5 and simultaneously precipitates arsenic, fluoride, and manganese to WHO guideline levels.

Sewage sludge treatment

In belt-filter and centrifuge dewatering, PAFC at 1.5–3 kg t⁻¹ DS produces a friable cake with 20 % lower moisture than FeCl₃ or polymers alone, cutting hauling costs by ~30 %.
• The iron fraction binds phosphorus (P < 0.5 % DS), preventing struvite scale and odor during anaerobic digestion.

Industrial effluents treatment

• Paper-mill backwater: 50–100 mg L⁻¹ PAFC removes 70–90 % of anionic trash and color, giving closed-loop clarity and a 30 % reduction in biocide demand.
• Textile dyeing wastewater: PAFC + 1 mg L⁻¹ cationic PAM yields >95 % color and COD removal at pH 7–9, meeting ZDHC MRSL limits.
• Mining acid drainage: PAFC precipitates Fe, Al, Cu, Zn, Pb, and Mn at pH 6–8 while the extra Fe(III) oxidizes Fe(II) in situ; sludge volume is half that of lime precipitation.
