Polyferric Sulfate (PFS) , commonly referred to as polymeric ferric sulfate, is classified as an iron-based inorganic polymer coagulant. In its solid state, it appears as light yellow powder or granules, while its dissolved form results in a reddish-brown transparent solution.

This coagulant is characterized by its excellent water solubility and is denoted by the following chemical formula: [Fe2(OH)n(SO4)(6-n)/2]m , where n is less than 2 and m exceeds 10.

High flocculation efficiency: PFS, as a polymer, possesses strong adsorption properties. Strong charge neutralization ability: PFS contains high-positive-charge iron(III) ions and polymeric species such as Fe2(OH)3 3+, Fe2(OH)2 4+, and Fe3(OH)6 3+. These polymeric species enhance charge neutralization capabilities. The high cationic charge increases surface activity, enabling effective neutralization of suspended particles' charges, thereby forming larger aggregates for faster sedimentation.

High cost-effectiveness: Compared to traditional inorganic coagulants like aluminum salts and iron salts, PFS achieves better treatment results with lower dosage requirements. Its cost per ton of water treatment is 30%-60% lower than that of traditional aluminum salts, reducing treatment costs.

Good settling performance: The flocs formed after PFS reacts with water are large, dense, and settle quickly. The settled sludge exhibits good dewaterability, reducing sludge volume and facilitating subsequent sludge treatment.

Strong adaptability: It is effective for treating various types of water, including high-turbidity water, low-turbidity water, high-algal water, drinking water, and sewage.
