Submersible Propeller for Sewage

This IP68 submersible mixer mounts on a guide rail and delivers 200–4 000 N thrust at 360–1 450 rpm to create bulk velocity ≥0.3 m s⁻¹, preventing sludge settlement in anoxic, aeration and equalization tanks. A single or double stainless propeller (AISI 304/316/Duplex) is driven by a 1.5–22 kW oil-cooled motor with silicon-carbide mechanical seals and thermal sensors; an internal moisture probe trips power if water ingress occurs. Propeller pitch and diameter are optimized by CFD to maximize flow while minimizing energy; VFD option matches oxygen demand or mixing duty, saving 15–25 % power. Installation requires only guide rails and a top hook—no dry well or compressed air. Typical uses include denitrification channels, activated-sludge basins, industrial lagoons and digester mixing. By replacing surface aerators or pump-around loops, the submersible mixer cuts capital cost 30 %, reduces noise and aerosols, and ensures uniform biomass, improved oxygen transfer and stable process performance in municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants.
