Industrial Applications of Calcium Chloride

Calcium chloride is widely used on roads, highways, and parking lots as a de-icing agent and lubricant. When in contact with water, it releases heat and reduces ice formation.

Calcium chloride has a strong absorption capacity, making it an effective drying agent for gases like nitrogen, oxygen, hydrogen, and sulfur dioxide.

As a cement additive, calcium chloride reduces decomposition temperature by about 40°C, improving cement production.

In refrigeration, calcium chloride solution acts as a refrigerant and brine, lowering freezing points to -20 ~ -30°C.
