Carbon-Steel Precision Filter

Carbon-steel precision filters deliver 0.2–100 µm clarification for non-corrosive industrial streams at a price lower than stainless units. Heavy-wall CS shells (Q235B or SA516) are internally shot-blasted and coated with epoxy, Halar or rubber to resist rust; exterior is primed and top-coated for outdoor installation. Each vessel accepts 1–36 high-flow pleated cartridges, providing up to 540 m² surface and 500 m³ h⁻¹ capacity at 40 m h⁻¹ flux. Inside-to-outside flow traps particles inside elements; a spring-compression plate prevents bypass even at 0.8 MPa differential. Differential-pressure gauges signal when cartridges should be changed; quick-opening swing bolts allow 5-minute element removal without tools. Standard connections are PN10/16 flanges, NPT vent/drain and ¼" DP ports; options include steam jacket, ASME U-stamp, or 3.1B mill certificate. Typical uses include cooling water, RO pre-treatment, food-grade syrup, petrochemicals and tertiary sewage reuse. By combining carbon-steel strength with high-area pleated media, the filter offers 99 % particle removal, 75 % lower capital than SS housings, and decades of reliable service when paired with compatible process fluids.
